    OF NOTE:
    Wind, Brass, Aerophone, 3 Valved
    1970s Monopole Star Fluegelhorn
    – new one-piece
    Flugelhorn is "bugle" in French.
This one-piece professional Flugelhorn has had the very best one owner care by me during the 45 years that I have owned it
. It shows lightest tarnish, few scratches, nicks (see photos). This beautiful
    Model 7955 Couesnon
    Silver Star
is fully functional; you can see in photos this horn is in truly great condition for its 45 year vintage age.
My most favorite times with it was all the girls loved to hang with me,
listen to me playing slow smooth jazz
    .
Was 16 years old when I purchased it, and I played it almost every day three years in the high school jazz band. I was the only one to have a flugelhorn,
and I got all the mellow parts and great solos
. It was a special period in my life. The next few years after high school I would play it for myself and my enjoyment on occasion.
I had thoughts I might become a professional musician, however college led me in a different direction. So for the most part the last 40 years it has been stored in the case in my bedroom closet. Now we are downsizing, so that is my reason for finally letting it go so another can enjoy this high quality Cousenon Star Bb Flugelhorn.
In my senior year a fellow class mate was unloading the high school bus and sat my case on the ground. He was unaware where he sat it there was a puddle. So my case sat in the puddle for a couple hours - that is why you see a water mark on the case. That was over four decades ago. It did no damage of any kind to the horn or the inside of the case, just left waterline marks on the outside of the case. As we traveled a lot in the high school band, the case was loaded with all the other music instruments, so the case itself has heavy wear. I lost the keys a long time ago, so the case has no keys.
I would take it out of the case at least once a year and lightly polish it and oil it. Bright Silver plating is all intact, no brass shows through. It's a beautiful musical instrument
The photos show you the actual Flugelhorn
, items included and case that you will receive.
How you see it is the condition I've kept this horn during my ownership. It has not been overly polished; nor has it had a full cleaning.
I believe the next owner would want to do a complete thorough cleaning themselves.

    Interesting note
    :
In 1957 Ivan Jullien (October 27, 1934, Vincennes - January 3, 2015, Etampes (91) became a notable French professional musician. The Couesnon Monopole Flugelhorn was his personal preference.
In 1956, at the age of 22, he bought a Couesnon. Ivan tastes were Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, Clifford Brown and Miles Davis. The long list of Jazz musicians that Ivan followed goes on and on.
Ivan  also followed class teachings of
    Jean Greffin
at the Monopole Conservatoire at 31, rue du Maroc, Paris-19.
It was none other than Jean Greffin
who undersigned this Couesnon's Monopole Bb Flugelhorn Serial # 40482 Conservatoire
Original Certificat d'essai et de garantie
(which is the Certificate of test and warranty). This original signed certificate that you see below comes included with this purchase on this authentic Monopole Silver Star Couesnon Horn No. 142/1 with stamped Serial Number 40482 (see photos).
Bit about Couesnon I found in my research
... Couesnon is one of the great names in brass instruments, in business over 170 years. It grew to include eight factories employing, at one time, over 1800 people in France. In the USA in the 1950s, the Couesnon flugelhorn became very popular as a doubling instrument for jazz trumpet artists.
The Couesnon company was started in 1827, in Château Thierry, 50 miles east of Paris. The company was purchased by the Couesnon family in 1883. Under the personal direction of Amedee Couesnon for 48 years, the company won many medals and awards for quality production and technical innovation.
By 1911, Couesnon had expanded to eleven factories and more than 1000 workers, meeting the needs of many performing groups and military bands. Starting in the 60s and during the next 20 years, Couesnon tried to expand its share in markets other than fanfare bands. They made a line called "Monopole Conservatoire" higher quality instruments, trying to gain more customers in conservatory.
Factories were sold off and in 1969 the main factory in Château Thierry was badly damaged by fire, destroying the archives. In 1978, the contract with Gretch to import Couesnon instruments to the USA was terminated and new Couesnon instruments have been very rare in the US since that time.
Couesnon is still in business. Today the company has only 25 employees working in its sole shop in Château Thierry. In 1999, the French drum maker P.G.M. bought the name, the tooling, and the factory to give it new life.
    The company is now
    P.G.M. Cousenon
