Description

This Prussian enlisted man's belt & brass ( M1895 ) buckle is pre-WW 1. Germany switched to non-reflective accessories mid-war, The Belt is Brown and was NOT dyed black to conform with mid-war regulations. The belt shows NO evidence of field repairs and measures a bit over 38" and has adjustments to accommodate the buckle from 36-31”. Belt Buckles from this period commonly have some type of denting, this example is NOT dented & It is uncommon to find a Pre-WW 1 Belt & Buckle in this good shape. The patina on the brass is great. The German Empire was made up of four Kingdoms, Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony and Wurtemberg along with several Grand Duchies, Duchies and Principalities. They all contributed to the German war effort and the larger ones had some distinctive uniforms. Prussia was the largest Kingdom and this buckle carries the Prussian Crown with the motto "GOTT MIT UNS" or "GOD'S WITH US".
